Our Story

Pub & Eatery
Est. 1848

This iconic building in the heart of Helmshore in Rossendale dates back to 1848. Originally known as The Bridge End Hotel and Pub due to its location at the side of bridge over the River Ogden on Helmshore Road, owned by a man named Abraham Cronkshaw. In 1951 there were plans of shutting down the pub altogether however, it fortunately survived. In the summer of 1986 the building was sandblasted white and it was still possible to see Abraham Cronkshaw's name engraved over the door.

In 2016 the pub was reopened as 'The Cotton House' where it became a family friendly restaurant and bar. The Cotton House has had a couple of owners over the years however, is now being ran by 2 brothers Zak & Marcus Yates.
